McCormick Ranch Golf Course More than just a golf course… The McCormick Ranch Golf Club offers any caliber of player two spectacular resort golf courses, which are open to the public 365 days a year. These lush, well-manicured, traditional layouts are located amidst gorgeous scenery in the heart of Scottsdale. The Palm and Pine championship tees are each over 7,000 yards long, in addition to enjoyable, yet challenging men’s, seniors’, and ladies’ tees. Meet the challenge of these fine courses, known for hosting the Arizona Amateur Stroke Play Championship, the Golf for Women National Club Championship, the Arizona Open Professional Golf Tournament, and the National Junior College Golf Championship. The ninth hole of the Palm Course was chosen by Golf Illustrated as “One of the USA’s top 18 water holes.” The surrounding residential areas of McCormick Ranch are diverse and extraordinarily well planned communities. Once a working cattle ranch, the land (4,236 acres) was sold in 1972 to Kaiser-Aetna for $.05/sq.ft. ($2,178/acre). The subsequent transformation of the McCormick's Ranch was based on a master plan developed by Gruen Associates of Los Angeles and Scottsdale Environmental Planners and Consultants. Development began with infrastructure and amenities. The amenities had a dual purpose by providing aesthetics, which included two championship 18-hole golf courses, more than 25 miles of bicycle paths, public tennis courts, 130 acres of man-made lakes, two of which can be used for sailing and several that are stocked with fish. Phase I saw the completion of infrastructure (major street, sewers, water lines), the amenities and the introduction of three resorts. In Phase II, builders purchased parcels of land, constructed the houses, condominiums, and patio homes, and did on-site streets and utilities. Since 1980, when Transcontinental Properties acquired the remaining 300 of 500 planned commercial acres, the company has developed 78 acres in a residential project, and 182 acres in commercial projects. For planners and developers and builders, the seven square miles of McCormick Ranch is a quantitative figure of square feet and easements and setbacks. But for the resident, McCormick Ranch is an expansively sweeping view of the mountains, well-maintained areas and curvature roads.

Designed by PGA Hall of Famer Billy Casper and Greg Nash, the golf course at Terravita Golf & Country Club offers a true desert golf experience. Wide fairways and tee boxes placed with various skill levels in mind, make this private course a fair test. However, the natural topography and vegetation of the desert can come into play, rewarding the straight and accurate shot maker. Terravita is located on the west side of Scottsdale Road, just south of the town of Carefree. Terravita an 823-acre private community in the desert foothills of Scottsdal is a planned community, built by Del Webb. When it originally opened in 1993 it was a runaway hit and still commands great demand and interest due to it’s superb recreational and community features.

Relocation >Enhancing Your Home
A moderate climate can help your home sell, but wherever you live, you can enhance your home's hidden potential by bringing the outside into your home. Minor remodeling projects can be tailored to suit your taste and your budget.
Study the placement of your home on the property. A small window can be made larger to let more light into a room and expand the view. You can create an entertainment area for guests by installing a sliding glass door which opens onto your garden or adding a patio or deck. The addition of a skylight in a dark room can make a dramatic improvement.
You can also consider ways to enhance the outdoor features of your home and integrate them into the living space of your home. Such improvements can often greatly increase the value of your property.
